Blake's soccer season

I'm still not sure if I like soccer still. I love that it gets my kids moving, they make some new friends and it gives us something to do out of the house. But thus far my boys don't really care about soccer so it's hard to be excited about it. It was so rainy too and cold too that didn't help. Blake was on his friend Bens team and knew a few other kids as well so it all helped.
While I sit though a hour game i like to bring my camera to give me something to do. :)

This may be his last season because he has decided that basketball is his sport.  That's at least what he told me.

Bretty Freds 3rd Birthday

How am I a month late posting this? My sweet little guy had his third birthday last month.  He would love nothing more then to open a endless amount of presents and get a cake everyday.  I know because he tells me that it needs to be his birthday EVERYDAY.  I love when my kids turn three because it's the first birthday they really get what is going on.
Bryan bought him some new PJ's that he loved.  He loves Nacho Libre and wants to watch that movie all the time.  I thought this mask and cape would be a HUGE hit with him.  I don't know if the mask is a little too big or what but they don't ever play with it.  I swear you just never know with kids sometimes!

He still loves to play kitchen.  But it can't be kitchen- too girly- so he plays with the grill he got for his last birthday.  I bought him some more play food and this cute little cash register.

We took the boys to the jump zone to celebrate.  To say he loved it is a understatement.

There was MUCH debate about the cake for weeks.  First it was a curious george then a nacho cake then a elmo cake.  I just let him pick out of the book at walmart and he settled on a Monsters University cake.  I thought it turned out cute.  I used to try to make all my kids a special cake.  Not only did they look bad but they usually tasted bad too.  A 20 buck walmart cake is SO WORTH it when you are sick and pregnant and don't have time to make a nasty cake yourself.

I love my giggly little guy and he loved all the attention he got for his birthday.

Child and Family support center 5k race

Bryan writes a list of goals each year and one of his this year was to get the older boys to run a 5K with him.  I thought he was crazy and to find a little mile race for them to do.  After a few practice runs we signed them up for this race.  We have done a few things to support the Family and Child Support center (even do a video with the kids, Bryan and I for them) and we wanted to help.  The race happened to land on Brett's birthday but we did it anyway.  I got there just after the race started with the little boys and we hung out until the crossed the finish line.  Big Blue the mascot for USU was there and Brett LOVED him.  He ran right up to him and said "it's my birthday!" gave him a huge hug and giggled the entire time .

After the one mile race came though we wait a bit and the first 5K racer came.  He did it in 20 minutes.  Then a couple more older guys (early to late 20ies looking guys) went though.  Then I saw my little 9 and 7 year old with my husband in toe coming up.  Tyson was 4th and Blake 5th place overall! They even beat the overall girl for the 5K.  And they did it in just over 24 minutes.  I was so proud of them.

Seriously who knew they were such great runners! Bryan was dripping with sweat and was tired too and he runs about 20 miles a week at least.

I want my boys to know they can do hard things.  Not only did they do a hard thing (honestly I couldn't have ran this race even when I'm not pregnant) but they can rock at them too.
