From Tysons email- SUNDAY Today was easily the craziest day of my mission... I almost died. And it was a normal day up until 8:00. It was a usual Sunday a great church lesson and very relaxing. But later that night me and my comp were driving down a small canyon alongside a place called Red hills. We were driving down this road and just beyond our turnoff there was a car driving 5mph down the road. And in case you didn't read my last email in new mexico on sketchy roads thats usually a bad thing. So we turned off to the house, I look back and they are flashing their lights. So we pulled into we were going to see a house we had been teaching but it had nobody there. So we turn around and as we cut back onto the main dirt road we saw that car again driving slow in front of us. So we tried to go around but they cut in front of us. So now they were trying to block us off which in this town rarely ever meant anything good. There was a little pullout section so we used that to zoom past. But I look behind us as we passed them and see them rapidly speed up. So I tell my comp he's speeding up and I tell him to gun it. So we drive and this creep is chasing us. Me and my comp are wigging out but then I start to think. I tell my comp to get to the main road (route 66) and drive to the police station. This guy is flying behind us. (Also mission cars have these stupid sensors that yell at you for going to fast so the entire time the thing kept saying, "check your speed") So I make a decision and take my comps phone and call the cops. We pull into the police station and I see them Wizz by overall the plan worked. Sadly we couldn't tell the cops much because we were so panicked we couldn't properly describe the car or the license plate. We'll we got back to our apartment and kept my woodcutting axe close. We both said prayers thanking God for not having anything block our path so he could catch us.
Conference weekend at the cabin with the cousins.
Pack cousins!
Cowboy out at the football game. Region cross country at the Heritage center! Blake did amazing! A PR for him.
Varsity- Ben T, Drew, Brock, Blake, G, Ben S and Josh. All good friends of Blakes. They had such a good time together.
Brett and I went to the pumpkin walk together. No one else wanted to go!
Stockton got his first buck! I was sitting on the couch and they came in and said they didn't get anything. I felt bad because I figured since they were coming home so late they would have got a deer. Then Blake told me to go to the garage and there it was! Stocktons first buck! Blake, Bryan and Easton were with him. It took two shots. Good job Stock!
Grandpa had to drive over to see it.
Then later that week Blake woke up early and went up by himself. He not only shot this deer alone, he gutted it and hauled it out alone too. What a stud.
Divisional's in Orem, Utah. Uncle Nate was working in the area so he went to watch him too. The best part was Ridgeline qualified for STATE!!!
Rzr/dirbike ride with dad
No one loves a fire more than Bryan does. Burning some stuff in the garden at the end of the season.
STATE! Oh man it was so cold. It had snowed that night and melted before the race. Instead of snow it was rain but freezing cold. I have no idea how the boys did so well running.
They all did so good. So proud of these boys.
Brett is a Nazgul from Lord of the Rings.
East was Freddie from 5 nights at Freddie's
