BOYS TOYS AND LOTS OF NOISE

Mothers of little boys work from son up til son down

I'll be honest. Right now is 6 months after these photos were taken and seeing them makes me emotional. And that really surprises me. It's like I almost forgot what normal life was like even though we are sort of normal now. Who knew going to church and school was such a blessing? You don't think about it when you always go. Who knew being around people! Your family! Was such a gift! And then one day it's gone. So I'm spitting up March into two different posts. The normal march and the Covid March. Because they are two very different things. First the normal March:

Mad I was taking a photo of them clearing off my driveway so we could go to church.

Bishop fireside.
I've been feeling for years I needed to attend the temple more. When I was with my Grandma at the hospital I was talking to my aunt and cousin about doing a Jenkins girls temple night. And these two were the only ones able to come. Natalie (my cousin) and Kate (my cousins wife). And thank goodness we did. I think about a week after this they closed the temples down. I've needed the peace I felt there so much!
A few days before this I made Bryan take me to Walmart to grab some Clorox wipes and a couple of other things. I use these things all the time to clean up after my boys. But Walmart was almost totally out! I was able to grab a couple things then grabbed a extra just in case.

I better explain just in case. In the winter before this a virus was in China called covid 19 or corona virus. They closed down the whole country and it was only a matter of time before it got out. At the time I honestly didn't think much of it. Stuff like this had happened before and our life didn't change at all. But as things got closer to our shut down the stores started to be depleted of things. 6 months later I still can't find Clorox wipes! 6 months are you kidding me? Anyway-

So back to the photo- Walmart was also almost all the way out of soap, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. My friend posted about needing some Clorox wipes so I sent her this photo of Maceys the next Monday. Honestly I haven't seen the shelf with a single can since then.

In the middle of March my grandma moved over to her assisted living facility. She has some issues that need a nurse to help her so she had to go there. My aunts and mom set up her room with her bed, couch and photos. I was there the day she saw it.

I'm so grateful we were able to get her settled. I went and saw her a few days later when East was at preschool and it was the last time I was able to give her a real hug. She is still in her same room but we are no longer allowed to go on to see her because of Covid. That day when I picked Easton up we found out they were no longer going to be going to school for awhile because USU was closing in person classes and went online. Which meant no more preschool for east.

My boys all had Friday off of school for a teacher inservice day. It was the same day my nephew Luke and Jake and niece Abby was going to Beaver Mountain for school so I took the boys up skiing.

IT was their last ski day. Little did we know. We found a bubbas burgers from Kauai sticker at Beaver mountain so the boys got a photo of it.

And thus ended normal life in 2020. Buckle up.

February 2020

February 2020
Bryan is still in the bishopric so that means I have to get the boys ready every Sunday still. I made them post for a pre church photo. Handsome boys.
East got the same Tie as Blake so they matched.

Stockton has a reading disability and it takes spelling and reading extremely difficult for him. He gets so frustrated with it all and fights me a lot about it. So when we read enough and he earned enough points to rock the halls it was a huge deal. Especially this year where we didn't adjust his points at all and he did it. Lucky for him because this was the last month they did this before school closed.

I took our new "cousin" (my niece Brianas baby) Addy's photos. East was happy to meet her.
Then we had to take some pirate photos of East.

Not sure how East sleeps with his bed like this. Ty likes to help tuck him in every night. He reads to him and everything.
We are lucky to have Blakes basketball coach in our lives. He is amazing. He is the perfect coach for Blake.
Stockton fixed his bandaid.

Valentine's day
I get to go in the boys classrooms (except Stockton) and take photos for their yearbook. Bretts had a normal party. Blake's grade decided to do a dance over a normal party.

Blake got his braces off! For now. isn't he cute??

I came home and found Brett wondering around in shorts and a tshirt.

East loves his preschool! He is at the Aggie lab. He goes 4 days a week for the afternoon.

Just before valentines day my mom called me. She was worried about my Grandma from her phone call earlier so I went to check on her. I had my 4 younger boys and a Jamba Juice thinking that would be good for her. She was loosing weight. I got there and while she was talking ok with me she kept saying she was cold. And she seemed really out of it. I was showing her all of our Hawaii photos and talking with her. I had her move to her couch from the kitchen and wrapped a blanket on her. She said she wasn't in pain but she was just cold and set her house at 95 degrees. Then she thought about it and said no 85... 75... Which was odd for her to be that out of it. I was really worried to leave her. I had the feeling that I'm not going to see her in her house again and I was really worried if I left she would die alone on the couch where I left her. I know that sounds crazy but my point is I could tell she wasn't well.

I got in my car and called my mom and said get someone over her to check on her. She is not ok. Honestly I was scared that was the last time  I would see her. Well long story short she had a UTI but the infection got into her blood. My aunts were with her soon after I left her house and got her to a dr. She hasn't been back to her home since (it's September 4th 2020 now) We are blessed this happened when it did though because we were able to visit her at the hospital.

The day the below photo was taken she was being moved over to the sunshine terrace for rehab to have her recover and get up and moving again. My Aunt Roxey had just found out they were moving her to the room my aunt Martha had died in. It was the only room they had open but she would only have to be there for a day or two until her room opened up. We were worried how she would react. And you know what she said when she got there? That she felt closer to her loved ones in that room. I asked her about that later and she said that it's all about your attitude. She just decided before that she would make the best of it. And she did. More on Grandma later.
