I decided to do something crazy- combine my boys big day and have Easton blessed the same day we baptized Blake. Honestly I didn't want to do two meals and have two days in a row of crazy when we were all there anyway on Saturday. I did kind of feel bad it really wasn't Easton's day but of course he didn't mind. I was shocked when he fit into the blessing outfit all my other boys wore. Truth be told though we couldn't put on the little jacket though. First a few blessing photos:
My great Grandma Mae made these for me. I had my boys wear them for their blessings too.
We blessed him in this blanket too-which Grandma Mae also made. It's perfect- not a wrong stitch on that thing.
Can you tell he is a little hard to do photos of like these? Oh well! Before you feel Blake was left out I did a entire shoot for Blake I posted earlier. =)
Easton is named Easton William- after our friend Scott who has a middle name of william as well. Bryan always calls him Willy- and also my Grandpa Pack was a William so you know- two birds. Scott came to his blessing and was in the circle. A little afterthought on this I want to point out. 2-3 years ago scott was in a horrible accident where he was thrown off a horse and almost died. We feel blessed he is still around!
This is the picture I had in my head for the day- except I wanted one of just Blake and East but it didn't work out.
I made the mistake of asking Blake who he wanted to talk as part of our assignment for the meeting. He said me- like I had a ton of time to throw in writing a talk. I'm really shocked I didn't completely fall apart before this weekend with everything I was trying to get done. I wanted to go to the early prayer meeting with them but I didn't know what I would do with the rest of the boys so Bryan left early with Blake and we met them at the church. Blake was really excited about the day. Everything went really well. I was getting nervous about Easton though because he was getting really restless by the end. Blake was confirmed in a wonderful blessing. Then Easton had his turn and he was already crying. I figured oh well at least it's just friends and family that are here. As soon as they started to hold him and bounce him a little he stopped crying. That was as soon as the blessing started. Totally miracle. He started to cry as soon as it was over.
I spent all year making this quilt for Blake. It's amazing with being pregnant and everything I got it done. It honestly was done the night before the baptism. No joke.
We bought Arby's meat for sandwiches and eat over at a park with our family. It turned out to be a wonderful day and the weather was super nice for us to be outside too! Grateful for my sweet little family and the blessings of having Bryan be a righteous priesthood holder to lead our family.
