Deer Hunt Success 2019

 For the deer hunt this year Blake and Tyson both had tags. It was the first year both of them were able to hunt. Grandpa Pack was with them over the weekend and into Monday. Because Ty had a chance at a deer and didn't get it Blake got the next chance.

Tuesday Bryan, Ty and Blake went up hunting. They saw a buck and he missed but it was far shot. They were making their way back to the truck and they saw a group of deer in the trees. They moved down the hill and got Blake a good shot. He hit it with one shot! Blake is the youngest Palmer to can a buck. He had just turned 12 a couple of weeks before.

 If you know Blake well you know that he has been waiting for this moment his whole life. This is the kid that used to sleep with his toy guns instead of stuffed animals. He loves hunting. This was a huge moment for him.

 Now it was Tyson's turn. They decided to have Grandpa Palmer hunt with him. They got out of the car and realized they only had three total bullets. So Ty had to be a good shot. Bryan told Ty that he was worried they only had like one bullet and Ty told him "that is all I'm going to need."

"We hiked up to the place where we scouted for deer earlier. There was a buck along the fence but it was out of range. We waited and the deer never got any closer. So we decided to move down into a draw. We sent Grandpa to flush the deer out of it but none came out. But we looked up and saw a buck on the other side of  the draw. I went and got set up and canned it with one shot. Dad went and checked on the deer and I went to grab Grandpa. So when I came up with Grandpa to see the deer my dad told me that it had got up and took off. I was so upset! Then I saw the deer laying on the ground and told my dad he was a moron.  It was extra cool that my boys got to hunt with both Grandpas this time. I'm really happy both boys got their first buck.
