I'll be honest. The last day I was dead set on going to a normal beach. We had only really been to the ocean where the waves were broken up and Kauai is known for it's waves! I didn't want the kids to swim in them but I wanted to see them! So we went up the road to shipwreck beach. It ended up being one of my fav things we did. It was so beautiful! There were a lot of rocks in the water (see the black rocks below) and as the waves went back in you could hear the rocks rolling over each other.
That is Bryan in the orange shirt with East, Ty and Blake I think.
Since we had the captain at shipwreck beach we had to put a X marks the spot in the sand for him.
We went back to the ATV place to buy Blake this shirt.

The last day we flew out in the afternoon so we had some time to swim and hang around the resort. I was so nervous about my kids having to fly next to people they didn't know. But on the way back we had our own rows. Lots of them! It made the flight so night. We could move around a lot.
We actually had to stay in Oakland that night because our flights got messed up a few months before. We knew we would be there overnight and would fly out the next day. It sucked but we didn't really have much of a choice. The hotel in Oakland was actually pretty rude to us. Not a big fan.
My family is so set on doing another Kauai trip. It was absolutely amazing. It was worth all of those hours edited photos to earn the money to go. Time with my family is everything. It's my favorite trip I've ever been on.
