My little Brett turned 8 on April 25th. The original plan was to have him get baptized the first weekend in May. But as the date got closer we realized with Covid it wasn't going to happen. If we choose to do it only Bryan, Brett and two witnesses could go. I just really wanted all of my kids to be there for it. So we pushed it off until June and I'm glad we did. By June we could have 20 people come and do a zoom call to the rest of our family.
I had dreams of taking Brett to the temple when the tulips were in bloom for months. I had all of these ideas of places around the temple to take him for his baptism photos. With the gates being locked I did what I could then we headed up to USU to finish the rest. I loved the one on one attention and of course the Jamba Juice I got him when we were done.
Brett got baptized on a stormy day June 6th 2020. Honestly it was just the way he would want it. Not a ton of people.
The people who came- Grandma and Grandpa Palmer and Pack, Me, Cory, Luke, Abby, Katie and Jake, his friend Luke and his mom, Bishop McEvoy and his Wife Heather. We able to zoom call the rest of our family too. It was fun to include Becca and Joe's families since they live so far away! Jenny was also on the zoom call with her family. Brett's great grandma Donna Jenkins was also on a FaceTime call so she was able to see him be baptized as well. We had special permission under the circumstances.
They asked us to wear a mask but since we were all around each other anyway we didn't. We all had them in case they asked us to put them on. Brett's Dad baptized him. He was confirmed by his dad with Grandpa Pack, Palmer and Uncle Cory in the circle. He actually had me (his mom) and his brother Blake as witnesses. His grandfathers both spoke.
Out of all my kids I loved this baptism the most. Only because it was so personal! Just a small group of us and it was all about Brett. Normally we are with the whole stake with all the kids and their families getting baptized that day. To have it just our family and really quick was wonderful.
From Brett- I liked my baptism because their weren't a lot of people there. I kind of had these weird warm feeling inside. It was a good feeling. I liked the baptism towel I got.

Brett was named after our friend who is now our bishop. It was important to us that they were there.
East had to bring his sheep to the baptism because sheepy has never seen a baptism before.

Blessings in disguise! What a handsome young man and what a special time, even during this weird time with Covid. Your parents still look the same to me from what I remember them when we were younger. Your family is awesome! I really hope some day you can take our family photos.
