Saturday March 2nd we drove from Pleasant Grove to St. George- about a 3 1/2 hr drive. It wasn't too bad considering the day before Brett screamed for at least a hour of our drive. Anything was a improvement! Bryan's sister Jenny was already there staying at their in laws winter home and we drove there first. It was 70 degrees!!! I couldn't have died!!! Stockton was going crazy to be able to play outside. I don't think Brett knew what to think! We stayed at a hotel in town and the older boys went swimming with Bryan. Brett and Stock were with me in the room and I was going to go watch the boys swim when Brett pooped everywhere! The antibiotic wasn't sitting well with the poor kid. I just wanted to cry. He was pretty fussy with having so many things wrong with him. When Bryan got back to our room I broke down a little bit. Here we are trying to do something fun with our kids and Brett was sick, Stockton was running off all the time and getting into trouble the whole time. Why does this have to be so hard? The last time we went on this trip our kids were really sick too. We just couldn't win!
The next morning we woke up and headed to California! We got there around 2pm California time and checked into the hotel. My father in law went with us to meet up with some of our family who were at the beach already. My kids loved it! Stockton was chasing birds, running from waves, digging in the sand. I was clicking away with my nice camera and getting videos. I started to notice none of my pictures were working. They were pulling up on the screen black. Long story short every picture I was taking was totally black. I wanted to die. I LOVE taking pictures! To be on a big trip like that and not have a nice camera was horrible! I only got a couple of pictures with my phone. I hope some others in the family got a couple of pictures with my kids in them of the beach especially of Brett. It was his first trip to the ocean.
Tyson was rolling around in the water, then on the sand. Ty said he most favorite part of the ocean was finding sea shells. He also saw a sea lion. He said he found a sand dollar too.
Stockton and his cousin Ali.
Blake wasn't as thrilled. He had fun for a hour or so but then his legs got "itchy" and he fell apart. Until then he was having a blast with his cousins.
This was the best picture of Brett I had of him. I know I got some good ones on my other camera (until I noticed they were black) with him smiling. He liked it.
Stockton found some sea weed and wanted to show me. The kid could have played at the beach all day but it was getting windy and colder so we left.
A few pictures of our drive:
We have had the coldest winter so to get where it was warm was WONDERFUL!!!!
