July 2025

Blake decided to run the freedom run this year. And he did it alone and it did SO WELL! Bryan and I plus Grandpa Palmer came to see him finish.

I loved his outfit. Dressed for the race.

We flew my Grandpas flag
My grandma used to pose her kids from oldest to youngest or tallest to shortest. Blake is officially taller than Ty by about an inch or so - so he got to be at the top.

Even though Ty didn't care he still had to tease Blake

Ty didn't run the freedom run but he did run a few miles in his jeans with a flag for fun.

Brett got some boxes and made a box man costume.

We love our sweet dog Logan.

The boys loved to build some crazy things in the sandbox this summer. They would put tennis balls though the holes and it would run all the way down. Bretts friend Van came too.

We used to go get snow cones all the time and our kids never want to go anymore

Providence City for the first time did their own fireworks in July at the park by our house. I was surprised how good they were! And there wasn't that many people where we were to watch either.

We had a random sunflower growing in the garden that was huge!

You will find I take extra photos of Tysons knowing he was going to leave soon.
Brett spent the first half of the summer earning money for this lego set. It is huge! It's from Lord of the Rings.

No one bugs this poor dog more than Tyson. He is always making him mad. He calls him Rat or Moses most of the time.
Monday is family swim night! Bretts friend Jackson came with us.

We headed last minute to Wyoming for a night to enjoy some of the stuff they did for the 24th of July.

This was the parade.

Ty and one of Lukes friends brought him out for the fire truck to hose him down.
They had lunch and activities at the Bridger Fort. Which I think is so stinking cool but I love that sort of thing. This is actually my friend Dan from Bryan and my student ward when we met. He lived down the street from me and Dan along with his roommates all from Lyman would hang out with my roommates and I. He married a girl from our student ward too so I love to see them when we come into town for this stuff.

Some of the boys went to Bridger Lake to go fishing. I can't remember why I didn't go because I love Bridger Lake.

Before we left Jake gave Tyson the Wet Dog hat. Let me explain this crazy hat.

When Spencer left on his mission in 2019 He was Eastons pirate buddy. East loved him. And Easton was right in the middle of his crazy pirate phase. I got him this plastic black pirate hat as a reward I bet for potty training. He wore it one day finish and because it had no vents and fit right on his head he was sweating like crazy. It made him smell like a wet dog. So we have always called it the wet dog hat. Still do.

East gave it to Spencer one day when we were in Wyoming. And right before Spencer left Cory stuck it in his bag. So it traveled to Argentina with Spencer. Then when he had to come home during Covid to Maryland. Then Jake too it to New Jersey and on to Chili. It will go with the Palmer boys serving missions and they put a sticker on it where they served. Jake is giving the wet dog hat to Tyson. Who is currently in New Mexico and still has it I hope.

I love that East put it on since it was his to begin with. That crazy hat had traveled a lot of miles!

Tysons friend Jack had his farewell and lunch at the park after. I went to help a little even though I'm sure I wasn't much help. It's sad to see these boys leave! They have spent so much time at our house. Ty was lonely after so many of his friends left.

I forgot Ty's friend Luke came to this- I'm not sure why he didn't come to Tysons. From Left Ty's friend Logan,  Ty, Tayson (Taegan's little brother) Luke, Jack and Blake.

We went up Logan canyon with the Petersons for a cook out at Gibson Lake.

They found these NASTY Salamanders. Gross I hate those things.
Tyson has been spending a lot of his summer at my parents cabin in bear lake helping them build it. By the end of July this is what it looked like. He was almost done!
I was outside and heard Ty and Jack talk about Trump getting shot. I didn't believe them. Then I looked online and it was everywhere. He was running for present and a guy shot at him at a campaign rally. One man ended up dying from a stray bullet. It really is an act of God Trump didn't die. He did hit is ear but only because he turned is head just enough at the right moment.

A lot of people hate Trump most for reasons they can't even tell you they just hate him. Personally the fact that people were sad the gunman missed made me sick. There is way too much hate in this country. And the people that are the most hateful blame it on Donald Trump. I blame it on the media and politics.

Swimming lessons for East! He did so good and started jumping off the diving board!
