Ridgeline Missionaries 2024

As most of my brilliant ideas I had this one for a long time. My first idea was to get Tyson and his close friends at the temple for a missionary shoot. I was thinking like 5-10 boys. For sure I was going to do this. Then I saw a post online of a huge missionary group from a large high school just south of Salt Lake. Then I knew that is what we had to do! But I had no idea how to make that happen. So I talked to my friend Trinity (who is Tysons best friend Jacks mom) into helping me. She is also a great photographer.

So months before I started putting the word out- free missionary photos. And got a little traction from people. About the month of I started getting more and with the help of Jack who knew so many kids I knew we would at least have a little group. People would ask me about how many kids are coming. I would say between 20 and 100. I had no idea. At least 20. We ended up having around 55 show up. I couldn't believe it! It was AMAZING! And a ton of work.

We did a group photo first. I went right into work mode. I'm used to telling large groups of people how to stand in a photo for weddings and I knew I had to be fast with this many boys. (and 4 girls too!) We did a couple of group photos then moved to the very front of the temple. A few moms came as well and were watching (I don't blame them!) And When I got them all lined up and really took a minute to see what was going on it really choked me up!

These were kids my son has grown up with! Some since Kindergarten! Many had been to my house and spent time with my family. They were literally going all over the world. New Zealand to Finland, Peru to Alaska. Only a couple were going to the same mission. (one being Tysons!)It was so cool to see them all there.

I had some friends who volunteered to help. One was my mom. I'm actually trying to decide if I want to do this again. It was a lot of work to edit everything! But I'm tossing it around.

Above is my friend Trinity who helped me take a lot of the portrait photos.
Me on the right telling everyone where to stand.

Tyson and some of his friends
I thought it was cool to see all the different languages of the copies of the Book of Mormon we had.
Tysons be real
This is Tysons close group of friends. Ty, My Tyson, Hunter, Jack, Jackson and Teagan.
Taegan (Alaska) , Jack (Texas) and James (Texas)

Ty( Honduras) , Hunter (Peru) and Calvin (who Ty is serving with in New Mexico)

How cool is that to see them with all of their flags!

I posted a video online with some of these photos and it went crazy! It's been seen (between Facebook and instagram) over 50,000 times. Almost 60,000 times. People loved seeing that many kids leaving on missions. Honestly I thought it was amazing too.
I love my Tyson.
